The city of Lake Ozark is located in the Northeast section of the Lake, and includes areas on either side of Bagnell Dam along highway 54, Horseshoe Bend Pkwy, and Bagnell Dam Blvd, locally known as "The Strip". The 65049 zip code encompasses the peninsula to the west, mainly consisting of the Village of Four Seasons, Arrowhead to the East, and Lakeland to the North, comprising a wealth of activities and residences from MM1 through MM17 of the main channel.
Originally created as a 'construction village' as the dam was being built, Lake Ozark straddles both sides of the dam, and one of the original buildings still remaining from that time is the Willmore Lodge, which was originally constructed for the administrative staff and engineers of the dam to get a view of the project, and up the valley, which now translates to almost a 7 mile view of the Lake from the dam. Willmore Lodge now houses the Lake of the Ozarks Visitor's Center & Bagnell Dam Museum, displaying the rich history of the area, the Dam construction, and the progression of Lake of the Ozarks into the Premier Lake Destination it is today.
Business 54, or, "The Strip", is central to Lake Ozark, and is populated with an exciting array of dining and activities, with everything from the cherished Stewart's Restaurant, established in 1953, to the Malted Monkey, featuring a complete Skytrail Zipline course, and everything in between, making it's home here. In addition to food and adventures, there are a wide assortment of boutiques, candy shops, t-shirt shops and arcades, making the Strip a perfect place to spend an enjoyable afternoon for friends and family of any inclination. On the North end, Neon Taco and Paradise Marina and Watersports both have courtesy docks, making the Strip accessible by water, and Celebration Cruises ,makes the Lake accessible to those who come to Lake Ozark by car. The Strip is also host to many large events on the Lake, and is filled with motorcycles for Bikefest, and Performance Boats during the Shootout, among other popular events held here.
East of Bus 54, just north of Osage Beach, along Highway 54, are convenient amenities such as fast food, retail chains, and cinemas, in addition to locally owned businesses and fine dining options comfortably located near the highway, among the wooded hills of the Ozarks. Also in this area, and just off the 54, is the Nationally recognized Osage National Golf Club with 27 holes of golf available, 18 of which were designed by Arnold Palmer. Surrounded on 2 sides by the Osage River below the dam, and nestled into the rolling terrain, this course offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside amidst water features and wooded roughs alike, and with the complete pro shop and Eagle View Grille, makes it easy to spend a day or a long weekend on the links.
West of the Strip, the entire peninsula juts out into the main channel, dotted with hollows and coves featuring an assortment of marinas and water adventures, interspersed with single family residences of all sizes, as well as condominiums and other planned communities. The entire cape can only be accessed by Horseshoe Bend Parkway, and the majority of the middle section, stretching from the north bank to the southern shore, including an array of inlets, is occupied by The Village of Four Seasons. It's location on this jetty is unique in the lake area, as there are no roads or thoroughfares leading anywhere else, providing a certain amount of calm and seclusion, while being in the heart of the main channel, and only miles away from the highway and all the city has to offer. This Village comprises almost 5 square miles, and affords Lakefront and off-lake residences of all sizes, as well as vacant lots where you can create your own custom paradise, in addition to condominium communities, and all with easy access to the Lake, as well as the entire medley of amenities a development of this caliber has to offer.
